Although the company offers the usual real estate services, the primary emphasis of the company is the acquisition and sales of development potential properties. Dean Grissom does land use consulting along with helping develop lands held by Blue Oak and those properties held by customers. The goal of Blue Oak Land and Development is to help shape the future of communities in Northern California by encouraging "smart growth" models and steering growth toward marginally productive land rather than prime farm land.
